Standard facemasks and other personal protective equipment (PPE) provide only a mechanical barrier that reduces the number of viruses and bacteria that pass through, but does not kill them. Unless inactivated, the trapped pathogens remain on the fabric and can not only penetrate to the wearer but also be transmitted to others. Nobio is working together with leading manufacturers to incorporate its antimicrobial technology in non-woven fabrics used for making protective wear, empowering them to provide active protection.
